Lanzini
Had so much potential shame about the injuries but still many great games and goals for us , I wish him luck on his next step

Re: Lanzini
This is the thing, I didn't see Lanzini do that at all last season against those teams that sat back and took the points......be glad to be proven wrong though.....

Re: Lanzini
He’s an excellent option to have in midfield when we’re playing against a team that sit back. Especially if Rice is injured or needs a test, we don’t have many players as good as he is on the ball.

Re: Lanzini
I'd be as disappointed to see him go as I would Soucek. But if the right offer comes in for either then we should probably sell. I think both, more so Lanzini are bench players.

Re: Lanzini
Razzle, the problem I have now is remembering his contribution in games....that's not good no matter how good his brain is.....and he would be a player I'd most look forward to playing his game.....

Re: Lanzini
Sometimes that isn't helped by playing one up top. But he has quality in the boots. You dont need to be a whippet just have a football brain

Re: Lanzini
That's true Razzle, but the thing is now more than ever, because of the way we play, we need those balls to be incisive passes which I'm afraid is rare from him through a loss of edge/pace.

Re: Lanzini
What you have with Lanzini is a ball player. He doesn't give the ball away. Certainly a good squad player.

Re: Lanzini
I like Lanzini, although yes the injury knocked him. To get the best out of him though he needs to link up with someone, that was the beauty of his first season when he and Payet linked up beautifully. I'd keep him certainly as a squad player.

Re: Lanzini
Can't agree. He rarely picks out a defense splitting pass, don't know his stats from last season but would be surprised if there are that many assists and goals. I'd say his main 'strength' is picking up the ball from a defender and knocking it up the pitch or out wide. Basically a nothing footballer.

Re: Lanzini
I wouldn't say he was that shit going forward. He chipped in with a few goals and assists last season.

I'd much prefer to see him further up the pitch than I would be with him on the edge of our penalty area.

Re: Lanzini
LT - So what is the point of him then, as he's totally shit going forward?

Re: Lanzini
Takes penalties.
End of.
With Benrhama and Dawson our next best takers not in the 1st XI we gonna need him.

Re: Lanzini
I don't see anything that makes me think he should be playing defensively.

There's been a few times where he's been brushed off the ball and given the opponent an opportunity to attack.

Re: Lanzini
I think we've seen in recent years, and quite often, that if a decent offer comes in for a squad player then he will go, and it suspect that will be the case here. That said, the most likely thing imo is he will stay for one more season then he will go to River Plate. While I agree that at only 29 he 'could' be useful in a DM type role over the next 2-3 years, I don't see Moyes suggesting he gets a new contract. Overall I would say he's been a disappointment.

Lanzini captained the squad that went to Borehamwood last night.

Is he talking of leaving? If not what a dumb post.

Re: Lanzini
No way should he leave, an important squad player.

Hells bells if he, Soucek, Benrahma and Diop all left we would be in big trouble. According to most on here (and elsewhere) we needed to bring 7 or 8 players IN during this window, who seriously believes we would bring in 11 or 12?

Re: Lanzini
would be foolish to let him go, loads of skill and craft, has successfully adapted his game after that injury and i hope he'll be getting better an better next few years. a clever player we should definitely be keeping
